Easy Hummus Recipe

Hummus is one of those things that is so versatile and can be just used as a traditional dip, a spread for sandwiches or watered down to make a dressing. It is an amazing vegetarian dip that is creamy , nutty and has a slight zing from the lemon juice. My recipe is super easy and tastes delicious! It is a bit different since I add in black pepper and red chili powder which are not typically used in humus. All you need is a food processor or high speed blender.

Yeilds: 3 servings ( I usually double this recipe because I like to have left overs)

Ingredients:

-1 16 oz can of Garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained

-2 tsp of Tahini paste. I like this one.

-1/4 cup and 2 tsp of your favorite Olive Oil

-1 tsp of minced Garlic

-4 tsp of Lemon Juice

-1/2 tsp of Salt

-1/2 tsp of Black Pepper

-1 tsp Red Chili Powder

Directions:

1). Place all the ingredients in your food processor and blend away. You’ll want to blend this for 2 minutes to make sure it is creamy.

2). Taste for seasonings and adjust to taste. I usually add more olive oil if it is too chunky and add some more lemon juice if it needs more of a zing.
